Collaboration with other institutions
The Society collaborates closely
with a number of institutions and organisations, both national and
international. The concrete contents of collaboration depends upon the
common interests and goals.
1. The Society is the core of the Association of the Polish
Operational Research Societies, being the member of the
international OR societies,
IFORS and
EURO. In the framework of the Association Polish community delegates
its representatives to these two societies. And so, in particular, Prof.
Jan Węglarz and Prof. Roman Słowiński (Poznań University of Technology)
from the Association are Polish representatives in EURO, while Dr Jan W.
Owsiński is a co-editor of the International Abstracts in Operational
Research.
2. The Society collaborates closely with the
Systems
Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences,
with which it is associated from the very start, and where it is also
located. The seat of the Association is also at the Systems Research
Institute. In particular, the Society organises its conferences and
other meetings most often in collaboration with the Institute.
3. Other standing partners of the Society are the military universities
(primarily the Military Technical University), where an important number of the Society's members work,
and which actively participate in organisation of many of the Society's
events.
4. The Society collaborates also with other university-level schools.
Let us mention here the Maritime University in Gdynia or the University
of Information Sciences and management in Warsaw.
5. On technical and organisational matters the Society collaborates
since several years with
The
Interfaces Institute, located in Warsaw.
